Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. We are excited to be partnering with you on this project and more to come down the line.
We'd like to start by giving our readers more information about the classes you offer and what sets you apart from other beauty schools.
You cover a range of training depending on the beauty enthusiasts experience level and interest. Makeup artisty, hairstyling is to be expected but you also cover building a portfolio. Which is crucial part of being successful in the beauty industry.
Can you tell us about the classes and training that you offer and why you have broken them out into the groups that you have for your school? You have covered training for all ranges of experience.
We have various programs to cater everyone's intention with makeup. This is because not everyone wants to take makeup artistry as a career, hence, our Intensive 4-Week Program that focuses on beginner training. We have also considered those that have undergone makeup school already and just wants further training so we have the Advanced 2-Week Program. For aspiring makeup artists, they may choose between our Extensive 5-Week Program and Master Makeup Program that starts from the basics until they progress to more advanced techniques.
We are aware that portfolios are vital in anyone's makeup artistry career. That's why we take pride in our photo shoots that help our students build their portfolio. It's also a great experience to practice with time pressure since the real world will not be as relaxed as the classes we offer.
You also go beyond just getting your graduates a recognized certification. There is a real effort to make sure that you’re putting them in a position to succeed.
Can you tell us about some of the addition bonuses that come along with taking the courses with you? Most think of schools as once your course is complete you’re on your own. But with your school that’s not the case.
We always care about our students and graduates. We try our best to help them out even after they have taken a program with us. There is a closed Facebook group we set up for Nina Mua students and graduates where we constantly post jobs and opportunities exclusively for them.
An example would be helping your graduates build and create a portfolio to present to potential clients and employers.
Can you speak to the importance of the portfolios and the steps you take to make sure they have what they need to get started in the industry?
We strongly believe in portfolios. It's like your ticket to a potential job or booking in the future. Clients and employers will always seek for your best works to convince them that you are to be trusted with their faces. With this being said, we do offer a photo shoot for all our programs and a Portfolio Building program for those who just want to improve their portfolio. We also have two programs (Extensive 5-Week Program & Master Makeup Program) that include a business/branding/marketing class that helps them how to get their name out there as a new makeup artist in the industry.
Another thing that stood out while doing the research for this interview was your blog. Your blog was not only helpful with providing insight into the industry but it covered how to be effective and efficient no matter what stage of your career an artist and or stylist is in.
Please tell the readers more about your blog and the benefits of the articles that you’re posting. Personally we learned so much from reading your articles. We imagine others interested in the beauty industry would as well.
We put aspiring and already makeup artists in our mind as we construct topics for our blog. We make sure it covers the business side of makeup artistry since this is what a lot of freelancers are most interested in. We want to be able to help everyone reach their dreams and through our blog, we are able to disseminate important information to those who need it most.
What can readers expect to see in articles to come so that they know to stay tuned. How often do you post new articles to your blog?
They can expect more blogs that cover how they can stand out in the makeup industry. We like to post tips and tricks in becoming makeup artists, especially for beginners; and more reasons why taking makeup artistry as a career is one of the best choices anyone can make. We like to post once a week so stay tuned every Friday!
Makeup is not a mask that covers up your beauty; it's a weapon that helps you express who you are from the inside.
Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
Beauty has so many forms, and I think the most beautiful thing is confidence and loving yourself.
The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express.
Although beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, the feeling of being beautiful exists solely in the mind of the beheld. ~Martha Beck
Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I love natural beauty, and I think it's your best look, but I think makeup as an artist is so transformative.
~Marina and the Diamonds
Beauty without expression is boring. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything.
Makeup is no different than clothes and accessories - it's embellishments for your face. And it also gives you creative freedom. You get to have that moment in front the mirror every morning and give yourself self-love. You're making yourself up beautiful, which is essentially self-love.
Makeup is about balance. When the eye makes a statement, the lips should be quiet.
The makeup is simply an extension of the personality and colors, clothing, makeup all express something.
Honey, I am going to my grave with my eyelashes and my makeup on.
~Tammy Faye Bakker
I don't think I could live without hair, makeup and styling, let alone be the performer I am. I am a glamour girl through and through. I believe in the glamorous life and I live one.
